GIS (geographical information systems) -Based Redevelopment Blight Surveys
Since 2000, much of 3D Visions’ work has focused on conducting redevelopment studies: analyzing the built environment and quantifying the presence of physical and economic blight through applying GIS in the field and office to understand urban patterns of growth and deterioration. Under the direction of Kathryn Gillespie, 3D Visions has managed field data collection on more than 50,000 parcels in the western United States. During the last nine years, 3D has conducted these computerized field inventories of physical properties in San Francisco, Oakland, Reno, New Orleans, Fresno and Los Angeles.
